AROUND THE FIRM

Dear NONE,

Roger LucasMarsh, Rickard & Bryan, P.C., is proud to announce that Roger Lucas has joined the law firm to serve "Of Counsel".  Roger received his law degree in 1981 from Cumberland School of Law, where he was a classmate of this firm's founder, David Marsh.  After serving as law clerk to Justice Eric Embry of the Supreme Court of Alabama, he joined David at the firm of Emond & Vines to begin his practice of law.  There he won his first multi-million dollar verdict, which still stands as the largest Alabama verdict of record in a "co-employee" lawsuit.

For the past seventeen years, Roger has been practicing in his own law firm, as he continued to represent plaintiffs in civil litigation.  His special emphasis has been on workplace product liability and negligence in industrial, construction and agricultural settings.  He will continue to work on these type of cases at Marsh, Rickard & Bryan, P.C.

Roger has been married 27 years to Patty, a surgical nurse, and they have a son, Heath, who is a college student.

In other news, associates Derrick Mills and Rip Andrews have been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division for the Birmingham Bar Association.

One of the firm's former clients is making news.  As David and Susan Silvernail know firsthand from representing him, Lee McClendon, Jr., is an inspiration to all who know him.  Despite having suffered paralyzing injuries in a rollover accident, Lee has gone on to be a bass fishing professional. Recently, Lee spoke to local high school students about overcoming adversity in life.  Read the article in The Leeds News.

Finally, we invite you to take a few minutes to listen to David talk about truck safety on Alabama's highways.  David's new podcast can be found at http://www.mrbtrucklaw.com/
