Car accidents: Teenage Alabama girl dies in tragic collision

A two-car accident outside Evergreen, Alabama, has resulted in the death of a 13-year-old girl. Alabama state troopers say that the teenager was not wearing her seat belt when the accident occurred. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the accident site.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. on a recent Tuesday afternoon. The deceased victim was riding as a passenger in a Hyundai being driven being a 43-year-old woman. Her car collided with a Mercedes being driven by a 40-year-old man.

Emergency responders rushed the female driver of the Hyundai to the hospital for treatment. The male driver of the Mercedes was also rushed to the hospital. At this time, authorities are investigating the unfortunate incident to discover its cause, and police have yet to cite anyone for the collision.

Virginia car crashes often give rise to personal injury and/or wrongful death claims. For example, injured victims and family members of those who die in a car accident may have viable claims for financial losses relating to medical expenses, property damages, funeral and memorial costs. While no results can be guaranteed in such cases, generally speaking, those who are faulted for causing car accidents are liable for the injuries and property damages that result.

At fault parties are also liable for financial damages relating to loss of life. Financial damages in a wrongful death matter can be more complicated for courts to calculate, but standard methodologies can be applied to reach a viable figure. Those calculations often include lost family income, pain and suffering, funeral and memorial costs and other categories of damages.
