It's not very often you hear about fatal boating accidents involving docked ships, but last April in Alabama just such an accident claimed the life of a man who was thrown from the docks. According to the news, the fatal accident resulted in a dock worker drowning during a windstorm.
Land Rover has announced a recall of select Range Rover vehicles after discovering an issue with one of the model's airbags. It is estimated that there are just less than 4,000 affected vehicles in the U.S. Press releases did not indicate how Range Rover became aware of the issue, nor did it indicate if anyone had been injured or if any of the luxury vehicles sustained damage due the manufacturing defect. This may be of concern to Alabama owners of the affected Range Rover vehicles.
Alabama drivers should be aware that, despite making an agreement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration seven months ago, Chrysler Group has failed to begin recalling 1.56 million older Jeeps containing parts that federal officials have deemed a fire hazard. Instead, the company says that it is only beginning to prepare to build repair parts for the recall. Chrysler claims to have finished designing the replacement parts and is currently entering the tooling process.

Alabama State Police took an Ashford woman into custody on charges of first degree assault and driving under the influence stemming from a car crash in which a passenger was seriously injured. The driver was detained in the Houston County Jail on $60,000 bail.
