A pair of crashes in Alabama, both of which are being investigated by police, appear to have been linked very closely together. While no one was killed in the accidents, one of the drivers did suffer injuries. Those injuries were said to be minor, and it was not reported whether or not the person who was hurt had to go to the hospital for treatment.
The first accident happened when a man decided to back into the street, out of his driveway. A school bus was coming down the road, and it ran into him as he backed out. This was early in the morning, so the bus had not yet picked up any children to bring them to school.
This accident caused traffic to stop on the road, creating a backup, and the second crash occurred 19 minutes after the first, at 7:50 a.m. A car had come to a stop at the back of the traffic, and it was sitting there and waiting for things to begin moving again. A truck failed to stop in time, and it rammed into the back of the car.
The driver of that car is the one who sustained the injuries. The road remained closed for some time before it could be opened again.
When truck accidents involve a vehicle that is rear-ended by the truck, there is a good chance that the police will determine that the truck driver was at fault, though this is not always the case. Anyone who has been hurt in this way should pay attention to that ruling, though, as it could be the groundwork for a lawsuit to cover the cost of medical treatments.
