Motorcyclists tend to be keenly aware of their surroundings on the road, an attribute that is not always shared by drivers of larger motor vehicles. Unfortunately, this can culminate in terrifying collisions that result in serious injuries. A more recent motorcycle accident left an off-duty deputy with what appear to be severe injuries.
Although off-duty at the time, the deputy was on his way to work at the time of the wreck. It is still unclear what led to the two-vehicle wreck, but authorities are otherwise certain that the motorcyclist laid his bike down just before colliding with another vehicle. One officer noted that this is common practice for motorcyclists who anticipate that they are about to collide with something, be it a vehicle or object.
The driver of the other vehicle did not appear to be injured in the wreck. The motorcyclist, however, had to be transported to an area hospital for what were categorized as serious injuries, although the full extent of his injuries are still not entirely clear. However, the local sheriff was able to confirm that the victim had at least suffered some type of head injury.
Reckless actions behind the wheel create an unsafe environment for everyone on the road, but motorcycle riders are especially vulnerable to such careless behavior. Unfortunately, victims who have been involved in a motorcycle accident do not always have a clear understanding of when they can seek compensation. Criminal charges are not a necessary prerequisite for Alabama victims to achieve just and necessary legal recourse through the successful actions of a personal injury suit.
