Nursing home abuse: Unacceptable and unwanted in Alabama

Nursing home neglect is something no person should have to go through. If you put your loved one in an Alabama nursing home, it’s because you want them to be cared for and not hurt by the medical providers and caretakers there. If abuse or neglect has taken place in their nursing home or assisted living facility, then you may be able to take action via a lawsuit.

Nursing home abuse takes many forms, from malnutrition and dehydration to actual physical and sexual assaults. Bruising might show when an elderly person faces this kind of abuse, or they may even be able to report it themselves. Some elderly people face fractures from falls due to neglect. Others may face burns or infections from a lack of attention or care. Pressure and bed sores are also possible if your loved one isn’t being moved from adequately from his or her bed.

These signs of abuse might be written off by the nursing home as being due to the health conditions of your family member or even just because of the lack of workers at the nursing home. Those aren’t excuses that you have to listen to and are not excuses that a good nursing home uses. A lack of care is a lack of care, no matter what the cause.

"They took a case that others would have stayed clear of.."
I have the utmost respect for Rip Andrews and the lawyers at MRB Law. They took a case that others would have stayed clear of because the issue of state immunity was involved. Through determination and unwavering commitment they were able to a find resolution to an extremely difficult matter.

"They...brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict ."
These lawyers took a complicated issue, revealed the truth in a way 12 jurors unfamiliar with the topic could understand, and brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict. They were able to relate my “invisible” medical condition to the jury better than I can to my own friends. And because of that, the jury hugged me and cried with me when it was all over. That meant more to me than any amount of money.
