Pedestrian killed by truck in Alabama

As a pedestrian, you take care to monitor your surroundings and to cross where you’re allowed to on the populated roadways. When you lose a loved one to a truck accident or car accident because a driver wasn’t paying attention, you may be able to seek compensation for his or her wrongful death. While that compensation can’t bring back the person you lost, it may help you get through a difficult time without having to worry about the cost of medical bills or funeral arrangements.

Take for instance this case about a man who was killed by a truck in Alabama due to a driver who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. According to the news updated on May 2, a 32-year-old man struck a pedestrian who was walking along Highway 78. That victim’s identity has not yet been released.

At the time of the accident, which was reported as being around 9:30 a.m., the pickup truck allegedly went off the road and hit the pedestrian. Normally at that time of day, barring any poor weather conditions, the pedestrian should have been visible. However, that day, the driver veered off the road toward the pedestrian. The man who was hit was an adult, according to the news, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 32-year-old man who struck the pedestrian has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.

The story states that alcohol could have been a factor in the accident, although reports do not indicate the driver’s blood alcohol content. The man is being held, however, in the Jefferson County Jail in Adamsville, Alabama, in lieu of a $30,000 bond.

"They took a case that others would have stayed clear of.."
I have the utmost respect for Rip Andrews and the lawyers at MRB Law. They took a case that others would have stayed clear of because the issue of state immunity was involved. Through determination and unwavering commitment they were able to a find resolution to an extremely difficult matter.

"They...brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict ."
These lawyers took a complicated issue, revealed the truth in a way 12 jurors unfamiliar with the topic could understand, and brought justice to my family through a multi-million dollar verdict. They were able to relate my “invisible” medical condition to the jury better than I can to my own friends. And because of that, the jury hugged me and cried with me when it was all over. That meant more to me than any amount of money.
