Rhonda Chambers brings over thirty years of appellate experience to the MRB team. Rhonda’s passion for appellate work began when she clerked for Alabama Supreme Court Justice Oscar W. Adams, Jr. Adams was the first African American appointed to the Alabama Supreme Court and then the only African American ever elected to statewide constitutional office in Alabama. Rhonda’s husband also clerked for Justice Adams after her clerkship ended. Rhonda and her husband thought so much of Justice Adams that they asked him to be in their wedding.
She devotes her time to research and writing and to preparing the firm’s lawyers for trial to ensure that significant issues are preserved in the event of an appeal. When it is necessary to seek post-judgment relief or to appeal (or the other side does so), Rhonda assists in the post-judgment briefing.
Rhonda has extensive experience in handling appeals pending in both state and federal courts, including the Alabama Supreme Court, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court. She was a long-time member of the Alabama Supreme Court’s Standing Committee on the Rules of Appellate Procedure, having served as Chair of the Committee for seventeen years.
