Two men were killed in a car wreck in Huntsville after a man in a white BMW hit their vehicle head-on early in the morning on Oct. 18. According to the report, the vehicles were traveling on Martin Road near Zierdt at the time of the accident. At Jamar Circle, the BMW driver swerved into the oncoming lane in an effort to avoid hitting an animal that had run into the road when he hit a black Ford.
The 20-year-old Ford passenger who died in the accident was a former football player for Bob Jones High School. His former teammates held a short gathering for him on the practice field before traveling to a game on Oct. 25. The driver of the Ford died during surgery at Huntsville Hospital. The driver of the BMW was also hospitalized in critical condition.
At the time of the report, police officers had not charged the driver of the BMW. However, the man underwent toxicology tests, for which results may take up to six months.
When someone dies as a result of another’s negligence, the surviving family members may face sudden extensive hospital bills and funeral costs.
