A three-car accident on Highway 167 North left two people with critical injuries. The accident took place approximately two miles north of the Enterprise bypass at around 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 15, 2013. Law enforcement closed the highway to allow emergency crews treat victims and to make space for a rescue helicopter to land.
One victim was taken to a nearby medical center while the other was flown to a hospital. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the car accident. Responders to the scene found a Nissan sedan in a ditch with severe front end damage next to the southbound lane. Nearby was an overturned Toyota Tundra. The third vehicle was a tow truck with damage to its front. Responders on the scene were Alabama State Troopers, the Enterprise Police Department and the Enterprise Fire Department.
